Tips for better seamless patterns

What size can I export?
Export square or rectangular tiles from 256px up to 4096px on each side, in 64px steps. The default is 1024×1024. Use 1024×1024 or higher for print; smaller tiles work well for web backgrounds.
Can I export with a transparent background?
Yes. Enable the Transparent option before exporting to get a PNG with no background color. You can also use a solid color or upload a background image.
Does the tool show how my pattern will repeat?
Yes. The live 3×3 preview updates as you edit, so you can see how your tile repeats and spot seams before downloading.
How do Save project and Load project work in different browsers?
In Chrome and Edge, Save project writes pattern.json plus a motifs folder using the folder picker. Load project opens that folder. In Safari and Firefox, Save downloads pattern.json; Load asks for the JSON file, then the motif image files. Keep your original motif files so you can reload the project.
What is Smart Spacing?
Smart Spacing spreads motifs evenly across the tile and keeps duplicates farther apart so the repeat looks more balanced before you fine-tune by hand.
