Pagefold Scanner (“Pagefold,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is designed to keep your documents on your device. We do not require an account, and we do not upload your scans to our servers. Learn more about the app on the Pagefold Scanner page.

1. Who we are

Pagefold Scanner is an iOS document scanning app published by Kick-Start.ai. This Privacy Policy explains how the app handles information when you use Pagefold on your iPhone or iPad. Product details: kick-start.ai/pagefold-scanner.

2. What we collect

Pagefold is built around on-device storage. In summary:

• No account required. We do not ask you to create a username, password, or profile.
• Your documents stay on device. Scans, imported photos, edited pages, OCR text, and exported PDFs are stored in the app’s local storage on your device, protected by iOS file protection.
• No document upload to Pagefold servers. We do not transmit your document images or PDF content to our own servers.
• No tracking. Pagefold does not use advertising identifiers for tracking, and does not engage in cross-app tracking.

3. Permissions

Pagefold may request the following device permissions, only when needed for features you use:

• Camera — to scan physical documents into PDFs.
• Photo Library — to import images you choose and turn them into scanned PDFs.

You can revoke these permissions at any time in iOS Settings. Without them, related features (camera scan or gallery import) will not work.

4. On-device processing

Edge detection, page cropping, image filters, and OCR (available with Pagefold Pro) run on your device using Apple frameworks (including Vision and VisionKit). Document content processed for these features is not sent to Pagefold servers.

5. Purchases & subscriptions

Optional Pagefold Pro subscriptions and purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store / StoreKit. We receive only the limited purchase and entitlement information Apple provides so we can unlock Pro features on your device (for example, subscription status). We do not receive your full payment card details.

Apple’s handling of payment data is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy.

6. Analytics, ads & third parties

Pagefold does not include third-party advertising SDKs and does not sell your personal information. Because documents are processed and stored on device, we do not share your scan content with analytics or advertising partners.

If you share a PDF using the system share sheet, the destination app or service (Mail, Messages, Files, etc.) is governed by that provider’s own privacy policy.

7. Data retention & deletion

Documents remain on your device until you delete them in the app or remove the app. Deleting Pagefold removes locally stored scans associated with the app. We do not maintain a separate cloud copy of your documents.

8. Children’s privacy

Pagefold is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the app in a way that concerns you, reach out via our contact webpage or email info@kick-start.ai.

9. International users

Pagefold is offered through the Apple App Store. Processing described in this policy occurs on your device. Purchase-related data is handled by Apple according to their practices and your App Store region.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of Pagefold after an update means you accept the revised policy. Material changes may also be noted in the App Store listing or in-app where appropriate.
