How to make an exploded view from an STL
An exploded view shows how a product comes apart. You do not always need a studio: a browser animator is enough for a listing video or a “how it assembles” clip.

Printing on fabric instead? Use 3D Print on Fabric .
What you need
STL from a slicer, or GLB/OBJ from CAD
A multi-body model if you want parts to fly apart (a fused lump will only spin)
A quiet background color that matches your shop photos
Step-by-step
Import the file. If the mesh is huge, decimate in your modeler first.
Choose motion — explode for “what’s inside,” assemble for instructions.
Orbit until the silhouette matches how customers see the product.
Export video and compress only if the shop has a strict size cap.
Listing tip
Loop a 6–8 second explode/collapse. Buyers understand parts faster than a still photo of a grey STL.

Common mistakes
Importing a watertight single mesh and expecting separate parts.
Moving too fast — phone autoplay will blur the story.
Busy HDR backgrounds that fight the product color.
FAQ
Does this replace Blender?
No. It replaces the “I only need a 10-second explode clip” job. Use Blender for lighting and film-quality renders.
Which format is best?
GLB often keeps parts better than a single-body STL. STL still works for many prints.
Is it free?
Yes. Models stay in your browser session.
Can I use LEGO-style kits?
Yes — any multi-part model that the viewer can separate.
