Breakspot Privacy Policy

Breakspot (“Breakspot,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is designed to keep your parts on your device. We do not require an account, and we do not upload your meshes or results to our servers. This policy covers the Breakspot iOS app. It does not describe cookies or analytics on kick-start.ai as a whole. Learn more about the app on the Breakspot page.

1. Who we are

Breakspot is an iOS screening estimate published by Kickstart Ai LLC, doing business as Kick-Start.ai. Kickstart Ai LLC is the controller of any residual information (messages you choose to send, and on-device StoreKit entitlements). This Privacy Policy explains how the app handles information when you use Breakspot on your iPhone or iPad. Product details: kick-start.ai/breakspot.

2. Contact and launch updates

If you email info@kick-start.ai or use the Kick-Start.ai contact form (including to ask for Breakspot launch updates), we receive the name, email, and message you send so we can reply. That is separate from the app. We do not sell those messages. You can ask us to delete a message you sent by emailing the same address.

3. What we collect

Breakspot is built around on-device storage. In summary:

• No account required. We do not ask you to create a username, password, or profile.
• Your parts stay on this device. Imported STL, 3MF, OBJ, PLY, and AMF files, meshes, Check results, and Report PDFs are stored locally with iOS protection until you delete them or remove the app. Kick-Start.ai does not receive them. If iCloud Backup or Finder backups are on, Apple may store a copy of app data under Apple’s terms.
• No upload to Kick-Start.ai servers. We do not transmit meshes, results, or identifiers to our own servers.
• Data Not Collected. Breakspot does not collect personal data for analytics or advertising. There is no analytics SDK in this app.
• On-device preferences. Settings such as display units and Pro status stay in iOS settings on your device.
• No advertising tracking in the app. Breakspot does not use advertising identifiers for tracking and does not engage in cross-app tracking.

4. Files you import

When you import an STL, 3MF, OBJ, PLY, or AMF, you pick a file through the system Files picker. Breakspot reads that file on this device so it can mesh and Check the part. The file is not uploaded to Kick-Start.ai.

You can revoke Files access at any time in iOS Settings. Without it, import from Files will not run. The bundled demo shelf bracket still works.

5. On-device processing

Import, meshing, paint, Check, and Report run on your device using Apple frameworks (including Accelerate Sparse). Part content processed for these features is not sent to Kick-Start.ai servers. Breakspot does not fetch models from the web.

6. Purchases & subscriptions

Optional Breakspot Pro subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store / StoreKit. We receive only the limited purchase and entitlement information Apple provides so we can unlock Pro features on your device (for example, subscription status). We do not receive your full payment card details.

Apple’s handling of payment data is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy.

7. Analytics, ads & third parties

Breakspot does not include third-party advertising SDKs and does not sell your personal information. Because parts are processed and stored on device, we do not share your meshes or results with analytics or advertising partners.

If you share a result card or a Report PDF using the system share sheet, the destination app or service (Mail, Messages, Files, etc.) is governed by that provider’s own privacy policy.

8. Data retention & deletion

Parts remain on your device until you delete them in the app or remove the app. Deleting Breakspot removes locally stored working copies associated with the app. Kick-Start.ai does not maintain a separate cloud copy of your meshes or results. Device backups (iCloud or Finder) are controlled by you and Apple.

9. Children’s privacy

Breakspot is not directed to children. In the United States that means under 13; other regions may set a higher digital-consent age. Breakspot is not a Kids Category app. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The product is for everyday prints such as hooks, mounts, and brackets. Do not use results on children’s products; that limit is in the Breakspot Terms of Use. 10. International users

Breakspot is offered through the Apple App Store. Processing described in this policy occurs on your device. Purchase-related data is handled by Apple according to their practices and your App Store region.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Material changes may also be noted in the App Store listing or in-app where appropriate.
