Shoebox

Scan old photos and album pages on iPhone

Shoebox is an iOS photo scanner from Kick-Start.ai. Photograph a table of prints or an open album, detect several photos in one shot, crop them, revive faded color, and save the crops into a named Photos album — on this iPhone. No account. Prints are not uploaded to Kick-Start.ai servers.

Why use Shoebox

Digitize prints without a cloud account

An album scanner for iPhone: several photos in one shot, then crop, revive faded color, and save to Photos.

Several photos in one shot

Photograph a table of prints or an open album page. Shoebox finds each photo and shows a live overlay count so you can see what it detected before you save.

Repair the boxes

Add a missed print, discard a box you do not want, or nudge corners until the crop is right. You stay in control of every frame.

Revive faded color — keep the original

Choose Original, Revive, or black and white. Revive is a look, not a one-way filter. The cropped original stays on disk.

On this iPhone. No account.

Detection, crop, and Revive run on your device. Shoebox does not ask you to sign up and does not upload prints to Kick-Start.ai servers.

How Shoebox works

From album page to Photos album

Four steps to digitize old photos on iPhone — camera or import, then crop, look, and save.

  1. Photograph or import

Point the camera at loose prints or an open album, or import a photo you already took.

  2. Review the boxes

Add, discard, or nudge corners so each print is framed. Rotate 90° if needed.

  3. Choose a look

Pick Original, Revive, or black and white. Revive is the default. The cropped original stays on disk.

  4. Save to Photos

Save the crops into a named Photos album (default Shoebox). Optionally export a PDF album.

Who Shoebox is for

For the person holding the album

Family albums and loose prints

Open a spread, photograph the page, and save each print into Photos instead of shooting one photo at a time.

Faded color you still want to keep

Revive can warm faded prints while the cropped original stays available. Switch looks later if you change your mind.

Large, obvious controls

Shoebox uses a warm print-shop layout with one clear action per screen — shutter, review, then save.

Private digitizing on this iPhone

No Shoebox login and no upload to Kick-Start.ai. Crops you save go into your Apple Photos library.
